ADK Hospital has said that the Speaker of the Parliament, former President Mohamed Nasheed is in critical condition at the hospital's ICU.

Following the explosive attack last night near his residence, there have been reports that the former President went through numerous surgeries.

This morning, ADK Hospital said that that multiple successful surgeries were performed on the former president after he was taken to the hospital. However, there is one more important surgery pending.

After that, the family of former President Nasheed said that the final surgery has been performed and he was in stable condition.

However, ADK Hospital said that the critical and final surgery was successful and the family would be informed with the state of President Nasheed and details of the treatment at a later time.

ADK Hospital said that numerous life-saving surgeries were been performed in the former President in the past 16 hours due to injuries to his head, chest and stomach. The hospital said that he is in critical condition and is being treated at the ICU.
