A fire incident has taken place today on a shop at the junction of Janavaree Magu and Majeedhee Magu.

The incident took place at Westair shop around 1:15 p.m. today and the MNDF Fire and Rescue Service quickly controlled the fire.

MNDF said that the fire was extinguished at 1:30 p.m. and no one was injured in the incident. The fire started after the indoor AC Unit caught fire according to MNDF.

While a fire incident has taken place at a shop today, Friday night saw another fire incident in Henveiru where a café was burned down and affected the neighboring Gadhage Mohamedfulhu Building with the flames reaching up to the tenth floor.
