Dr. Fathimath Nazla Rafeeq at the National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) press conference today has said that the people who tested positive in the latest two cases also visited the flu clinic.

Speaking at the press conference today, Dr. Nazla said that the two people who tested positive today were tested after they consulted at the flu clinic with flu symptoms. She said that it has not been confirmed that they had not met with the previous patients.

The first positive case in the Maldivian capital was confirmed on the morning of 15 April and a lock down was initiated for the Male’ area. Since then, a nationwide lock down has been implemented with a 14-day lock down on the capital city.
