National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) Spokesperson Mabrook Azeez has said that the most difficult situation is hearing about COVID-19 deaths.

Responding to a question from One Online at the NEOC press conference tonight, Mabrook said that he finds it difficult to hear and speak about the deaths. Mabrook said that delivering the news of every COVID-19 death in the country makes his heart heavy.

He said that his main goal has been delivery latest information as openly as possible.

Mabrook first took on the role of the NEOC Spokesperson at a press conference was on 7 March 2020. Since then, 163 press conferences have been held by NEOC to date and Mabrook has been part of 111 of them.

Health Minister Abdulla Ameen also spoke at the press conference tonight saying that Mabrook is the strongest information bridge to the people and he now has a place in Maldivian history.

Tonight, the NEOC has been taken under the wing of the Health Ministry.
