Charges have been brought up against the MNDF Officer arrested in suspicion of raping a child.

Prosecutor General’s Office has charged Mohamed Ali (Haa Dhaalu Nolhivaramfaru) under special regulations for those accused of sexually assaulting minors.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the suspect has been charged with touching a minor with sexual intent.

Mohamed Ali was taken into the custody of the Maldives Police Service under suspicion of blackmail and rape of a 14-year-old child. MNDF has previously said that he was suspended following the arrest on 23 January 2020.
