CEO of Tree Top Hospital, along with two others have been indicted for hiding the sexual abuse of a child patient by a Male' nurse from Philippines.

The three indicted for hiding the crime are CEO Aadhil Moosa, B. Eydhafushi, Aminath Suha, Th. Guraidhoo and Nazeera Najeeb, S. Hulhudhoo. They are all charged with obstruction of justice under the special regulations for the treatment of child predators.

Today, the Prosecutor General's Office said that they were charge because they neglected to report the crime of child abuse to the relevant authorities when they initially received the information.

The PG Office said that they neglected to report to the Police that on 22 December 2020, a male nurse from Philippines, in a position of authority, sexually assaulted an underage boy.

An independent citizen filed complaints regarding the situation to the PG Office and so, under Article 223 of the Constitution, Maldives Police Service was ordered to investigate the crime.
