Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Aishath Nahula has made a request to the President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, to investigate the allegations against the Tourism Minister, Ali Waheed.

One Online has learned that the Transport Minister made the request for an inquiry in connection to the alleged audio clips of the Tourism Minister that were “leaked” on social media. While six separate clips of defamatory comments have been leaked with allegations saying that the voice on the clip are that of Minister Waheed.

Sources have confirmed to One Online that Minister Nahula requested the investigation on the night of the leak or the following morning.

The alleged leaked audio of Minister Waheed criticizes cabinet ministers with offensive and language. And with the audio clips have talk of criminal behavior, Maldives Police Service has said that they are looking into it as well.

Regarding the leaks, the Leader of the Jumhoory Party and husband of the Transport Minister, Nahula, Qasim Ibrahim said that a decision will be made on the matter by President Solih. He made the remark at the Jumhoory Party council meeting after a member proposed an investigation into the leaked audio clips.
