Airports across Asia have been placed on high alert following the detection of Nipah virus cases in India. Health authorities have confirmed five Nipah cases in West Bengal, while reports also indicate that more than 100 people in the state have tested positive.

As the virus spreads, several countries in the region have strengthened health screening measures at airports. Thailand, Nepal, and Taiwan have tightened checks for incoming passengers to prevent the possible spread of the virus.

The Nipah virus is a highly contagious disease that can be transmitted from animals to humans. Health officials say infected individuals may experience symptoms such as fever and headache within three to fourteen days. In severe cases, the virus can be fatal.
