PNC parliamentary group members have rejected former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s claim that government MPs are secretly planning a revolt against President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

Speaking at a PNF meeting, Yameen claimed that PNC MPs were unhappy with legal reforms aimed at curbing black-market dollar trading and alleged that some MPs were quietly working against the President.

Responding on X, PNC PG Leader and Inguraidhoo MP Ibrahim Falah said the 20th Parliament remains stable and strongly supports President Dr Muizzu.

Baarashu MP Ibrahim Shujaau also responded, saying there was no such revolt in Parliament. However, he claimed that MDP MPs were unhappy due to alleged secret communications between MDP Chairperson and former President Mohamed Nasheed and Yameen.

Other PNC parliamentary group members have also continued to respond to Yameen’s remarks.
