Mauroof Jameel, the Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation (HDC), has decided to retire from his position and has informed the company's employees of this decision.

Mauroof was appointed as the Managing Director of HDC on December 22 of last year.

According to available information, Mauroof has already informed some employees about his decision to retire. However, HDC has not officially confirmed this information.

When "One" attempted to contact Mauroof for comment via call and message, no response was received, so his statement could not be obtained.

Mauroof previously served as the Director General of the Hulhumalé Development Unit during President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom's administration, before HDC was established. After HDC's formation, Mauroof held several important positions in the company, including a brief stint as CEO. Mauroof played a crucial role in Hulhumalé's development from the design phase to its realization. He has also held significant positions at the Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC).

Additionally, Mauroof served as the Minister of Construction and Public Infrastructure during the last term of President Maumoon's administration.

Mauroof continues to be actively involved in many projects related to architectural heritage.

Mauroof was appointed as HDC's Managing Director following the resignation of the previous MD, Ibrahim Fazul, who stepped down due to an issue related to the allocation of land plots in violation of the Binveriya Scheme rules.
