Home Minister Ali Ihsaan announced tonight that police have begun investigating a case where employees of Fuel Supply Maldives (FSM) are suspected of stealing fuel from the company and laundering the proceeds.

In a post on his official X account, Ihsaan said that special police teams have searched 10 individuals, two houses, and two fuel barges, seizing electronic equipment and documents related to the case. He added that more details would be revealed by the police as the investigation progresses.

Ihsaan stated that finding such cases, investigating them thoroughly and quickly, and taking legal action without exception is a high priority for President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

While FSM employees are suspected of fuel theft, the police are also investigating a case where five Maldives Immigration employees are suspected of taking bribes from various parties in matters related to foreigners. Ihsaan revealed this information last Thursday.
