Tiny Hearts of Maldives has concluded the "Heart Healthy Maldives" project, which was carried out with assistance from the Bank of Maldives (BML) "Bank Fund".
According to a press release issued by BML today, the project was conducted to raise public awareness about exercise and heart health, provide exercise opportunities for everyone, and contribute to national efforts to prevent non-communicable diseases.
Based on the Maldives Physical Activity Guidelines (2022), the project produced 10 exercise-instruction videos. Tailored for various age groups and physical abilities, these videos include specialized content for infants, children, pregnant women, adults, and the elderly. The videos can be viewed on Tiny Hearts' website and dedicated Instagram page, and arrangements have also been made to allow the videos to be downloaded to provide wider access to these resources.
"The goal of the Heart Healthy Maldives project is to make exercise accessible to people of every age and condition. With the assistance of the BML Bank Fund, we have had the opportunity to provide these resources free of charge to families and islands across the Maldives," said Jeehan Mahmood, Chairperson of Tiny Hearts of Maldives.
The Bank Fund is an annual grant program conducted by BML open to registered associations in the Maldives. Under this program, five projects beneficial to the community are selected each year, with the bank providing financial assistance of MVR 200,000 to each project.
