High Court of Maldives has commenced its annual recess, spanning from 1st to 31st December. Despite the break, judges will continue addressing urgent and legally time-sensitive cases to ensure timely justice.

According to the High Court, matters requiring expedited resolutions, including those mandated by law, will proceed as usual during the recess. Trial courts will also manage fast-tracked cases to avoid delays.

Similarly, the Supreme Court of Maldives is observing its recess from 1st December to 1st January, as stipulated by the Judicature Act. The Supreme Court has clarified that hearings will not be held unless mandated by the Constitution or specific legal requirements.

While hearings are paused, both courts will maintain essential administrative operations, including case acceptance and routine functions, ensuring uninterrupted judicial services during the recess period.
