The air quality in the Maldives region has reached dangerous levels.
According to information revealed by the Air Quality Index (AQI), which provides real-time air quality information for various regions of the world, the level of air pollution in the Maldives region is increasing. It has been reported that the level has now reached a dangerous point.
In the Maldives, air quality information is available from Sh. Funadhoo, Male', Vilimale', and Fuvahmulah City.
Among the Maldives regions, Vilimale' area shows the most dangerous air quality levels. The air pollution level in Vilimale' stands at 155.
According to the Air Quality Index levels, when the pollution level is at 155, people with special health conditions need to be cautious. Such individuals are advised to wear masks when outdoors.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) measures air quality on four levels. A level between 0 and 50 indicates clean air. Between 51 and 100 indicates moderate air pollution.
A level between 101 and 200 indicates unhealthy air quality. The range between 201 and 300 indicates very unhealthy air quality. Finally, a level between 301 and 500 is considered hazardous for humans.
