Villa College and Villa International High School have opened applications for 16 scholarship opportunities.

Villa College opened applications for scholarships in 8 categories yesterday. The deadline for applying to the scholarship scheme is the end of this year. Students for Villa scholarships will be selected by a special committee.

At a news conference held at Villa College yesterday, the college's Vice Rector Ali Najeeb said that the scholarships include Villa College Open Scholarship, Villa College Alumni Scholarship, Villa College/Villa International High School Scholarship, Scholarship for Individuals with Determination, Scholarship for Underprivileged Students, STEM and Healthcare Equity Scholarship. He also said that scholarships are open in the International Students Scholarship category.

Najeeb said that except for the International Scholarship, all other categories are open only to Maldivian students. The newly introduced Scholarship for Individuals with Determination is a category aimed at providing higher education opportunities and empowering people with disabilities.

"This category will give priority to individuals with physical or other challenges in the community, to facilitate their educational advancement," Najeeb said.

The Scholarship for Underprivileged Students is open to students who are financially disadvantaged. Students applying for scholarships must submit an offer letter for their chosen course and other educational documents required for applying in that category.
