President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has expressed the Maldives’ support for the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) recent decisions regarding the genocide in Palestine. In a post on social media, the President described the ICC’s actions as a crucial step towards ensuring accountability for war crimes and crimes against humanity.

ICC recently issued a warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu's arrest over the escalation of violence in Palestine since 8 October 2023.

President Dr Muizzu reaffirmed the Maldives’ respect for the ICC’s decisions and emphasised the importance of honouring and implementing the Court’s rulings. He highlighted that upholding international law and delivering justice for the Palestinian people is vital to achieving lasting peace in the region.

The Maldives has consistently voiced its support for Palestine and called for international efforts to address the ongoing injustices faced by the Palestinian people.
