Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has announced that 90 percent of the work on 4000 flats being constructed in Hulhumale' Phase 2 has been completed, and commercial spaces from these units will also be open for those who want to start new businesses.

Providing information to journalists today at the Apollo Tower in Hulhumale' about the progress of work on these units, FDC's Business Development Department's Business Analyst Mariyam Sofa said that between 80 to 90 percent of the work on these units has now been completed.

The 4000 social housing units being built in Phase 2 are units that are being carried out divided into six zones. There will be 18,000 units in 32 towers. It has been decided to make commercial units on the ground floor and first floor of these places.

Sofa said that 32 units will be allocated for businesses, and it has been decided to allocate 127 spaces from these units for various businesses. The spaces in these places will range from 580 to 6200 square feet.

"The aim is to have the basic services needed available in the towers before people start living there. Combining the 4000 units, it is estimated that there will be a population of about 30,000. That includes all age groups. The commercial plan has been planned to provide services for all age groups," she said.

Elevators have also been installed on the first floor of these towers. And work on installing elevators and finishing work in additional towers continues without interruption.

Regarding this, FDC's Planning Director Ahmed Hassan said that they are working to open opportunities for commercial spaces next week.

FDC's Business Development and Marketing Director Ahmed Shamhool Abdullah said that currently, work on electricity, water, and services is ongoing in the units, and since these services are needed for commercial purposes, it will take about two months or a month and a half to announce, evaluate, and complete the process.

"The target is to establish the basic services needed before people start living there," he said.
