The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has announced the successful interception of a foreign vessel that entered Maldivian waters illegally, utilising drones during the operation.

According to the MNDF, the boat was intercepted during a coordinated operation involving the Army's Air Corp and Coast Guard. The vessel, identified as a fishing boat commonly used in illegal entries, has been taken into custody by the Coast Guard.

While the MNDF shared a photo of the vessel, details such as the number of crew members on board have not yet been disclosed. Investigations are ongoing.
