Eyan Ahmed, a 16-year-old bodyboarder, claimed victory in the Men’s Open category at the final event of the National Bodyboarding League 2024, Bandufilaa Challenge, defeating league champion Ali Javed (Jatte) with a score of 10.33 to Jatte’s 7.83 in the final heat.

This win makes Eyan the youngest bodyboarder to win the Men’s Open category in a national league event.

In the earlier rounds, Eyan triumphed over Amin Umar Moosa in the semi-finals with a score of 12.84, while Jatte advanced by defeating Ashraf Hasan, scoring 12.17 against Ashraf's 9.03. Eyan also competed in the junior final, narrowly losing to Mohamed Azaan Ahmed, who won with a score of 7.40 to Eyan 6.60.

After his win, Eyan shared his excitement with One Sports, saying, “I competed with a lot of confidence in all the heats of the tournament, and I’m aiming to win next year’s league. I was so happy, I didn’t know what to say, especially after my success in the Men’s Open.”
