A man has been arrested in connection with a case in Hulhumale' where a Maldivian man was detained, assaulted, and threatened inside a car, with demands for money made to his family.

The suspect, identified as Tholal Moosa, 37, Dhafthar No.9022, was apprehended by police, who also released his photograph. According to a police statement, the incident occurred last night on Orchidmaa Hingun in Hulhumale’.

In a related development, 12 gang members were arrested in connection with an alleged attempt to further assault the victim in an apartment in the Hiyaa flats, where they reportedly tried to inflict serious harm by targeting his head and fingers.
