President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has left for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at the invitation of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to attend the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit.
President Dr Muizzu will join fellow leaders from the Islamic world to discuss the escalating Israeli aggression in Palestinian territories and Lebanon. This summit serves as a continuation of the previous Joint Arab-Islamic Summit held in Riyadh on November 11, 2023.
President Dr Muizzu has been a vocal advocate for Palestinian rights, consistently condemning Israel’s actions and expressing concern over the recent violence in Lebanon. His firm stance reflects the Maldives’ commitment to promoting peace and justice in the region, while reaffirming solidarity with the Palestinian people.
The President is scheduled to speak at the summit on Monday, November 11, 2024. The President is accompanied by a high-level government delegation.
