Ahmed Nasif has been appointed as the Chairman of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).

The corporation on Wednesday confirmed that Nasif has been appointed as the Chairman. He also served as the Managing Director of HDC during the administration of former President Abdullah Yameen.

Nasif was first appointed as the Chairman of the Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL). He was appointed to the position in January 2024.

During the Yameen administration, Nasif served as the Managing Director of HDC, Thilafushi Corporation and the Greater Malé Industrial Zone.

Ahmed Zuhoor was the first chairman of HDC in this government. However, he was dismissed three months later in May.

Zuhoor served as Commissioner General of Customs, Youth Minister, Health Minister and Home Minister in the government of former President Abdullah Yameen. He was also the Managing Director of STELCO and Minister in the President's Office.
