After their arrests following the series of terrorist attacks in Sri Lankna on 21 April 2019, Sri Lankan police have released Funama Adam and Baikandi Hassan from jail.

They were both released today.

Talking to One Online, The Director of Communications at the Foreign Ministry, Miuwan Mohamed said that the two Maldivians were released by a court order.

And despite their remands being extended three times, no charges were brought forth against them.

Sources say that the two were in Sri Lanka on a medical visit to consult a doctor. They were arrested after a book on the origins of IS by an American author was found in their possession.
