Former Managing Director of FENAKA Corporation, Ahmed Saeed Mohamed's passport has been seized.
An Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) official confirmed to One Online that Saeed's passport has been seized on a request to the Criminal Court in connection with corruption cases being investigated.
Several allegations were levied on Saeed during his tenure as FENAKA MD while the previous government was in office. Even though these allegations were brought to the attention of the government, no conclusive action was taken against him.
Saeed has been accused of using his influence as the Managing Director of the corporation in awarding projects for the construction of power plants and office buildings in some islands. The projects were awarded to companies in which some FENAKA officials held shares.
The current management of FENAKA has also accused the company of corruption during the previous government. The current management noted that FENAKA has become heavily indebted.
