Kooddoo Airport has completed runway repairs and resumed operations.

Transport Minister Mohamed Ameen explained that flights to Kooddoo had been suspended due to runway conditions that damaged two Maldivian planes. The airline's website shows scheduled flights to Kooddoo have resumed, with two flights daily.

Minister Ameen previously noted the poor condition of the Kooddoo runway, which caused rocks to dislodge and enter aircraft engines, posing serious risks. He emphasized the need for a permanent solution, although the runway has now been temporarily repaired.

Opened in 2012, Kooddoo Airport’s runway was expanded in 2017 to support larger aircraft.
