The proposed state budget for 2025 is expected to be submitted to the Parliament coming Thursday.

Speaking at a meeting of the Finance Committee and the Economic Committee, the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament and Dhigurah MP Ahmed Nazim said the sitting to submit the proposed budget would be held on Thursday.

Before making the remark, Nazim submitted a motion in favor of finishing the review of four tax hike bills by the end of Monday. The motion to finish the review of the government bills within one day passed with a majority vote of 16-3.

“The 2025 national budget is expected to be received within the next two days. The budget presentation session will be held on Thursday,” Nazim said.

While the budget is being prepared for Thursday, four tax-related bills are under consideration in committee.
