Three people arrested with more than one kilogram of drugs.

The arrests were made on Saturday, October 19, based on information collected by Narcotics Intelligence regarding a drug peddling operation in Male’ City.

The operation was conducted by Drug Enforcement Department and Narcotics Intelligence.

The operation saw the arrests of Ibrahim Majid, 31, Ranakuri, Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, Mohamed Maihan Fayaz, 19, Andhaleebuge, K. Kaashidhoo, Mohamed Aisharu Yoosuf, 22, Ever Green, L. Kalaidhoo.

During the search of the houses, suspected drugs and more than MVR 86,000 were recovered. The provisional weight of the drugs was 1142.04 grams, police said.

The suspects were presented before the Criminal Court for their remand hearing on Sunday. Aisharu was remanded in custody of the police for 15 days, while Maihan and Majid were remanded for seven days.

Police are investigating the cases further.
