Maldives Customs Service has seized drugs worth MVR 2 million, smuggled by two Indians.

Customs today seized the items from a 41-year-old Indian man and a 38-year-old woman who arrived in the Maldives from Malaysia on the 14th of this month. They brought the items in their luggage.

Customs said heroin weighing 2.05 kg was recovered from the suspects' luggage. The street value of the items is estimated at MVR 2 million.

Customs handed over the drugs and the two suspects to the police for further investigation.
