Foreign Minister Abdullah Khaleel has been elected as the Vice President of the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).

Khaleel was appointed to the post at the PPM/PNC Senate meeting held today.

PPM Registrar Ahmed Hamdhan Nasir said the Senate had unanimously elected Khaleel as the party's Vice President and IGMH CEO Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem as the Secretary General.

The PPM Senate meeting was held amid rumors circulating on social media that PPM is going to be dissolved.

Hamdhan said there were no such discussions.

Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shiyam and Defense Minister Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon are currently the Vice Presidents of PPM.
