Foreign Ministry has issued a strong condemnation of the Israeli authorities' decision to seize the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in East Jerusalem for settlement purposes.

In an official statement, the ministry rejected Israel's continuous violations of international law and international humanitarian law, which include the illegal expansion of settlements, the destruction of UN agencies and relief organisations, and the obstruction and attacks on aid workers. The ministry highlighted that these actions not only impede the provision of essential services and the fundamental rights of Palestinians but also undermine the only viable pathway to lasting peace—namely, the establishment of the State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The statement also commended UNRWA for its unwavering commitment to providing life-saving assistance during these challenging times.

The Foreign Ministry expressed its solidarity with the Palestinian population and reiterated its call for the international community to take urgent and effective action to hold Israel accountable for its illegal actions against the Palestinian people.
