Ahmed Naseer, former Governor and most recently Ambassador at Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been reappointed as Advisor to the Minister of Finance.
This appointment comes after Moosa Zameer took office as Finance Minister on September 30. Naseer previously worked under Zameer when he served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
After the current administration assumed office on November 17, Naseer's first role was as Advisor to the then-Finance Minister Mohamed Shafeeq. Though initially holding a ministerial rank, he was later transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In addition to Minister Zameer, the Ministry of Finance now has 12 other political appointees, including Advisor Naseer, three State Ministers, and eight Deputy Ministers.
