The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has released the names of 166 who have not paid TGST and green tax.
The list includes the names of those who have not paid more than MVR 100,000 in TGST and green tax till the second quarter of this year.
Some large companies are among the 166 people who have not paid TGST and green tax. Some of the largest resorts, famous guesthouses and tour operators are also on the list.
Some of the notable names on the list of TGST and green tax evaders include, Coral Island Resorts Company which owns Kihaa Maldives, as well as the companies running South Palm Resort, Velidhoo Island Resort, Stone Hotels, Raaha Resort, Nazaki Hotels and Resorts as well as AAA Resorts.
Recently, MIRA has also released the names of 43 who have not paid income tax. The list is also dominated by tourism industry businesses.
