Police have advised caution to the public when travelling on bridges and highways.

In a post on X today, the police urged people not to use umbrellas while riding on bridges and highways and not to travel with coats which are easily damaged. People are advised to ensure that their helmets do not blow while travelling on the bridge and to ensure that the lights of the vehicle are switched on.

The police have also advised people to drive their vehicles keeping in mind the safety of themselves and others while travelling on bridges and highways.

The Met Office has issued white alert from HA. to L. Atoll, and a yellow alert from R. to V. Atoll.
