Maldives Broadcasting Commission (Broadcom) has started a probe into a documentary broadcast by Channel 13, allegedly investigating the death of Wifaq Ibrahim Adnan.

Wifaq Ibrahim Adnan died on August 14 after falling from a house in front of MPL.

The Broadcasting Commission decided to investigate the documentary at a meeting held today.

According to sources, after deciding to investigate the matter, the Broadcom sent a letter to Channel 13 CEO Ismail Sofwan asking him not to air the documentary anymore, remove it from its social media platforms and keep it in storage until further notice from the commission.

The documentary should be kept until further notice and the matter is being considered as a very urgent matter, the letter said.
