President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, currently on a two-day official visit to India, met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House, the Prime Minister's official office in New Delhi.

During their meeting, both leaders discussed the long-standing relationship between the Maldives and India, exploring avenues to further enhance their bilateral cooperation.

Earlier in the day, President Dr Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed were accorded a formal ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official residence of the President of India. Upon arrival, President Dr Muizzu was greeted by Prime Minister Modi and Indian President Droupadi Murmu.

The ceremony featured the national anthems of both nations and a special guard of honor, including cultural performances by the Indian Army in honor of the visiting President.

President Dr Muizzu’s visit to India comes at the invitation of President Murmu. Following the conclusion of his visit, he is scheduled to return to the Maldives on Thursday.
