STELCO Managing Director Hussain Fahmy has announced that the construction of the electric vehicle (EV) charging station is progressing rapidly.
In a post on X yesterday, Fahmy shared updates on the project, highlighting the active work underway at the site.
"The construction of the electric vehicle charging station is progressing well, with work being carried out efficiently on-site," Fahmy stated.
The initiative to establish the EV charging station was a key decision aligned with President Mohamed Muizzu's environmental policy, which focuses on reducing the nation's carbon footprint.
"STELCO fully supports the President’s vision for an eco-friendly and sustainable future, and we are working diligently to complete the project on schedule," Fahmy added.
STELCO stated that once the project is completed, the use of electric vehicles in the country will increase, contributing to a significant reduction in environmental impact.
The project was first announced on August 25, 2024.
