Maldives lost their second group F match of the AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers to Yemen on Friday.
Maldives lost 3-0 to Yemen at the Madya Stadium in Jakarta on Saturday. Maldives lost 4-0 to Indonesia in their opening match. The team has one match left to play against East Timor. Even if Maldives wins the upcoming match, the team has a slim chance at qualification unless Indonesia loses their match this evening.
Yemen scored against Maldives early on in the match with a goal by Adel Abbas Qasem. The second goal was scored by Yamen’s Anwar Hussein Al-Turaiqi eight minutes before half-time.
The third goal for Yemen was secured at the ninetieth minute by Mohammad Esam Al-Awami who came on as a substitute.
Maldives will take on East Timo in their last group match at 1300hrs on Sunday.
