The Maldives lost to Indonesia in their opening Group F match of the AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers at the 2025 AFC U-20 Asian Cup on Tuesday.

The match took place at the Jakarta Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. Maldives is in Group F with host Indonesia, Yemen, and East Timor.

Maldives displayed a displayed solid defense throughout the first half against Indonesia, preventing any goals. However, the game shifted in the second half, with Indonesia scoring three goals within a short span.

The goals were scored by Aditya Warman, substitute Figo Dennis Saputranato, and Toni Firmansyah. Indonesia extended their lead with a fourth goal in the 66th minute, scored by Jens Raven.

The Maldives will face Yemen in their next group match on Friday.
