Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has donated a crane to the Ihavandhoo Council in Haa Alif Atoll.

During a ceremony held today at the Ihavandhoo port, MPL CEO Mohamed Wajeeh Ibrahim officially handed over a 25-tonne 'Kobelco' crane to the island council. The donation was made in response to a request from the Ihavandhoo Council.

Speaking at the event, Wajeeh reaffirmed MPL's commitment to supporting local councils through corporate social responsibility initiatives.

"We are dedicated to meeting the needs of councils as part of MPL's social responsibility," Wajeeh stated.

Ihavandhoo Council President Ahmed Sobah expressed gratitude for MPL’s prompt action in fulfilling their request for the crane.

"We requested a crane, and MPL delivered it swiftly," Sobah noted.

In addition to the crane donation, MPL also signed an agreement with Ihavandhoo Council today to develop a dockyard and slipway on the island.
