Police have recovered MVR 10,000 that was stolen after hacking a man's Viber and Facebook accounts.

Police said a case of fraudulently obtaining money in another person's name was reported last Friday. The money was recovered within six hours after a joint effort by Henveiru police and Cyber ​​Center Police, police said.

Police said they identified the owners of three accounts where different people had deposited money and recovered MVR 10,700.

ATM deposit slips, cash cards and Dhiraagu and Ooredoo SIMs were also recovered from an apartment in the city.

No arrests have been made in the case and further investigations are underway.
