A man has sustained injuries after a lorry collided head-on with a motorbike on a bridge connecting Hulhumale' Phase I and II.

Police have been deployed at the accident site, police said.

A 24-year-old Maldivian man was injured in the accident and was taken to Hulhumale' Hospital. It is learnt that he was riding the motorbike.

One was unable to get further details of the injuries sustained by the motorist since Hulhumale' Hospital's media official did not respond to any calls.

Accidents have been on the rise in the capital region in recent weeks. So far this month, two people have died in road accidents.
