Drug Enforcement, Counter Narcotics Intelligence and North Police have jointly conducted a drug operation in Lh. Hinnavaru and Naifaru and arrested a group of people.

During the raid yesterday, 12 locations in Hinnavaru and Naifaru,were raided, police said. During the search, the police said contraband weighing around 86.26 grams were found. In addition, MVR 293,000, US dollars and Euro were found.

During the operation, Hussain Easa (48), Ahmed Mohamed (36), Mohamed Irushad (35), Abdulla Zakariya (46), and Fathimath Reema (44) were arrested.

The five accused were presented in Court to decide on judicial remand. Hussain Easa and Ahmed Mohamed were remanded to judicial custody for seven days, Abdulla Zakariya for 15 days, Fathimath Reema for 12 days and Mohammad Irushad for three days.

The police are investigating the matter.
