Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has announced the sale of land in Hulhumale' Phase II.

HDC on Thursday said that the land plots for sale are on beach front and beach side in Phase II. The beach front plots for sale are between 1,095 - 3,252 sq ft. The plots are for sale for MVR 4,500 per sq ft, with prices ranging between MVR 4.9 - 14.6 million.

The beach side plots for sale are between 1,440 - 3,380 sq ft. The plots are for sale for MVR 4,000 per sq ft, with prices ranging between MVR 5.8 - 13.5 million.

According to HDC, 16 plots will be auctioned in Hulhumale' Phase II - Eight from the beach front and eight from the beach side.

Maldivians above the age of 18 can apply for auction, HDC said. The company also said that if the bid is submitted by a company, it should be a company with 100 percent local shareholding in the Maldives.

The land will be sold in two phases. The first is the submission of expression of interest (EOI). The second stage is that if an EOI has been submitted by more than one party for the land proposed to be purchased, then it will have to be open for bidding.
