Two Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) buses collided in Hulhumalé Phase 2 today.

Police said no one was injured in the accident. Police did not say the cause of the accident.

According to police statistics released on Saturday, 1,907 accidents have occurred in the Maldives so far this year. That’s an increase of 431 accidents compared to last year. As of August last year, 1,907 accidents were reported to the police.

The highest number of accidents this year occurred in March. There were 301 accidents that month. There were an average of 200 accidents per month.

Police have increased road traffic management due to the increase in accidents in the city.
