A man was found injured in a guesthouse room in Male' city during a welfare check, police have said.

Police entered the premises following reports that there was no news from the man. Police did not divulge any information on the extent of the injuries sustained by the man.

He was rushed to IGMH for treatment, police said. He is being treated in the intensive care unit, hospital sources said.

One has learnt the injured is a 27-year-old local man.

Police added that police personnel are currently deployed at the scene.
