Yoosuf Abdul Ghafoor has been sacked as the State Minister of Homeland Security and Technology.

Chief Spokesperson at the President's Office, Heena Waleed told One Online today that Yoosuf Abdul Ghafoor was removed from the post under the powers given to the President by the Constitution.

The President has the constitutional power to appoint and dismiss people to political positions.

Heena said she has not yet received information on the appointment of another person to the post.

Yoosuf served as the State Minister of Home Affairs in 2014 during the administration of former President Abdullah Yameen. He was also an MP for Gan constituency.
