President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has directed the relevant authorities to make necessary changes and implement laws and regulations to take strict action against speeding vehicles.

He made the remarks after a correctional officer was killed when a speeding car collided head-on with a motorcycle near Hulhumale' Central Park.

In a post on President X, he prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul of 23-year-old Young Hassan Samah, and for patience for the family.

He said that preventing such tragedies requires the cooperation of all stakeholders. The President assured that the government will take all necessary measures to prevent high speed vehicles and ensure all roads in Male' city and other islands are safe for the public.

President Dr. Muizzu said that all the relevant authorities have been directed to make necessary changes in laws and regulations and start implementing them to take strict action against rash and negligent driving in any part of the country at any time.
