A young man has been killed in a car-motorcycle collision in Hulhumale'.

Police said they received a report of a speeding car near Central Park at 0248hrs yesterday.

Police have detained the 26-year-old driver in the car who was driving without a license.

The driver of the motorcycle died while being treated at the Hulhumale' Hospital, police said.

'One' has come to learn that the motorcycle driver, Hassan Samah, hails from L. Isdhoo and is a corrections officer.

The motorcycle passenger also sustained injuries to his head and facial lacerations.

Police have cordoned off the area where the accident occurred.
