Maldives Immigration has detained five foreigners for selling dollars on the black market in the Maldives.
The Maldives Immigration said in a post today that the suspects were arrested in a joint raid conducted by the Maldives Immigration and Maldives Police Service after an intelligence report was received by the task force. A large amount of cash and credit cards were recovered from the suspects.
Immigration has also posted photos of two foreigners arrested in the raid. The photos showed the men in possession of large amounts of US dollars and other foreign currencies. There were also large amounts of Maldivian notes.
Immigration did not say how much money was found in their possession. The agency said more information will be shared later as the case is being investigated.
