Adam Athuhar, 32, who took a woman hostage last Thursday night, has been ordered to remain in custody pending trial.

Athuhar held a woman hostage at knife-point and attempted to evade arrest, and was later injured when the police crept up behind him and hit his head with a baton in order to rescue the victim.

He was discharged from the hospital today after recovering. He was taken back into police custody after being discharged from the hospital.

Police said today that he was ordered to remain in custody pending trial. The police moved for an extension of remand in Athuhar's absence.

Police said Athuhar was seen by a doctor and the results of the medical tests and CT scan were normal.

Police said he had not been recommended by any doctor for treatment in the ICU and no doctor had written that he had suffered a seizure.
